Perlite is widely used as a filter aid in edible oil refining. The discharged filter cake retains a significant amount of vegetable oil. In most plants this oil leaves the site together with the perlite and is simply lost.
Save Tech applies an engineered separation process that recovers this retained oil and returns it to a suitable process route. The business case is transparent: it is based on the value of the recovered oil and the improvement of overall refinery yield. No disposal cost saving is assumed.

A Transparent Business Case
The economic basis is simple. The recovered oil quantity multiplied by the net oil value, minus energy, consumables, maintenance and operating costs, gives the net annual benefit. Investment figures, annual benefit and payback are stated only after the plant data have been assessed.
